Our story

How it all began

Since moving to Switzerland from the UK, Ieva Paludnevičiūtė noticed that there were many ambitious Lithuanian professionals living in Zürich and surrounding areas, who did not know each other.

Drawing from her experience as both a member and a Board Member of the Lithuanian City of London Club (LCLC), she recognised the immense value of fostering connections among like-minded individuals. Motivated by this insight, Ieva felt compelled to bring together Lithuanian professionals in Zürich.

‘’With changing Presidents and Boards my goal is to ensure the continuity of the Club, with new energy and ideas to ensure that the Club thrives and is active for many years to come.’’

Ieva crossed paths with Eglė Obrist whose enthusiasm matched her own in the mission to found a Club. They organised the first event which was a great success. This confirmed Ieva and Eglė’s belief that such a Club fulfilled a genuine need within the community.

The Club quickly attracted its first members who soon transitioned into the pioneering board of ZüriLit, passionately guiding the organisation's vision, values, and objectives forward.

Today, more than 20 members are part of our story. To ensure the continuity of the Club, members elect a President and Board annually.

ZüriLit offers a strong professional network to its members, bridging connections in Lithuania, Switzerland and beyond. This has already resulted in successful international collaborations with other clubs, organisations and businesses. In alignment with one of its core values, the Club also regularly coordinates charitable initiatives.

Embracing Lithuanian cultural celebrations like Joninės (Midsummer) has become a tradition, alongside personal development events focused on investment strategies, career advancement and personal development.

In 2023 the club had its first tennis tournament, while skiing trips have become a beloved tradition following the first Club's skiing weekend in Davos in 2022.

At our core, we aspire to grow lasting friendships, facilitate mutual professional and personal growth, and uphold our ties with Lithuania and Switzerland.

We warmly welcome collaboration inquiries from businesses in both Lithuania and Switzerland, eager to explore partnership opportunities.
